Crown reduction works are proposed for a row of London plane trees to maintain their shape and size while managing root growth and footway impact.

Row of London plane trees - Plantanus x Hispanica. The reviewed proposed works will consist of a reduction in height by 2m and a reduction in lateral branches of 1-2m. With this we should be able to retain the shape and most of the size of the trees whilst leaving it manageable for future pollarding every 2-3 years. By doing this we are aiming to keep the trees and the amenity value they offer to the area whilst also controlling some of the root size and damage caused to the footway. (Amended)
