Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 8 August 2026

Introduction

These terms govern your access to and use of the website planatom.uk and any other websites operated by Planatom (for example stockportplanning.co.uk) (collectively, “the Service”). The Service is operated by C8VA Limited. By using the Service you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Use of the Service

The Service is provided for personal, non-commercial, informational use only. You must not:

  • scrape, harvest, crawl or otherwise automate retrieval of pages, data or source code;
  • reproduce, redistribute, sell or exploit any part of the Service without our prior written consent;
  • attempt to interfere with the normal operation or security of the Service, including circumventing rate limits or access controls;
  • use the Service to harass, profile or target any individual named in planning records.

Accounts

Some features (following applications, notifications) require an account. You must provide accurate registration details and keep your password secure; you are responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms. You may delete your account at any time, and our handling of account data is described in the Privacy Policy.

Cookies & analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies on the Service for essential functionality and for usage analytics via PostHog. Analytics is pseudonymous for visitors; if you sign in to an account, analytics events are linked to your account. Full details, including how to manage cookies, are in our Privacy Policy.

Data protection & privacy

We process personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. What we collect, why, and how to exercise your rights (including requesting redaction of published planning data) are set out in our Privacy Policy and via our Data Requests form.

Intellectual property

All designs, code, layout and presentation on the Service are the intellectual property of C8VA Limited or its licensors, protected by copyright, trade-mark, database-right and other laws. Except for your right to view content through a browser, no licence is granted. Public-sector source data (e.g. local-authority documents) remains subject to any copyright or licence terms applied by the originating authority.

Planning documents & drawings

The Service reproduces certain documents submitted with planning applications (such as elevations and plans) from local planning authorities’ statutory public registers, which are open to public inspection under planning legislation. We make these documents available for the purpose of enabling the register to be inspected at a more convenient time and place and of disseminating the factual information they contain. We do not claim ownership of these documents: copyright in each document remains with its author (for example the architect, agent or applicant), and mapping content may additionally be subject to Crown copyright and Ordnance Survey licence terms.

You may view planning documents on the Service solely in connection with the planning process — for example to understand, comment on or object to an application. You must not:

  • copy, download, republish or redistribute planning documents or extracts from them;
  • use them for construction, design, boundary, conveyancing or valuation purposes;
  • remove or obscure any title block, attribution or copyright notice they contain;
  • use any mapping they contain for any purpose other than viewing the application.

Planning documents are reproduced as submitted and may be superseded by later revisions; the authoritative version is always the one held on the originating authority’s register, which we link to from each application.

Rights holders: notice & takedown

If you own copyright in a document reproduced on the Service and object to its inclusion, submit a request via our Takedown Requests form (or email [email protected]), identifying the document (the application reference and document title are sufficient) and the basis of your ownership. We will review promptly and, where the objection is made out, remove the document from the Service. This process supplements, and does not limit, any rights you have in law.

Data accuracy & disclaimer

We republish data obtained from public sources, enriched by automated (including AI) and manual processes to improve readability. We do not guarantee that the information displayed is complete, accurate, up-to-date or error-free, and AI-generated summaries and tags may contain mistakes. The Service is provided “as is” for general information only and should not be relied upon as the sole basis for decisions. Always verify details against the originating local authority’s record.

No warranty

The Service is provided without any warranty — express or implied — including, but not limited to, warranties of merchantability, fitness for purpose or non-infringement. Use the Service at your own risk.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, C8VA Limited shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or special damages arising out of or in connection with your use of (or inability to use) the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under the law of England and Wales.

Service availability & changes

We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice. We are not liable for any disruption or loss you may suffer as a result.

External links

The Service may contain links to third-party sites (including local-authority planning portals). We have no control over — and assume no responsibility for — the content or practices of those sites.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless C8VA Limited, its officers, employees and agents against any claims, damages, losses or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the Service.

Severability

If any provision of these terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remainder will continue in full force and effect.

Entire agreement

These terms and the Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and C8VA Limited regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements.

Governing law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, and you submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The latest version (with a revised “last updated” date) will be posted here. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
