This application proposes the felling of an oak tree following severe vehicle impact damage to its base and stem, with a replacement tree to be planted further back from the highway.

1: Oak. Fell. The tree was hit by a car on the 10th of May, resulting in severe basal wounding, with over 2/3rds of the circumference of bark removed from ground level to 1.5m, along with a severe impact wound to the north aspect stem. The overall likelihood of that tree being retained in a way that is either useful, or indeed ethical given the severity of the impact is so low, tha the best recourse is a fell and a replacement in its place, set further back from the highway.
