REAR: ONE: Giant Redwood (T1)(ht.15m) FELL to a 1m high stump. REASON: tree large and growing at a fast rate - too large for environment. Informative A: a replacement tree is encouraged, as detailed in tree officer email to agent 29 July 2026, with a more suitable species for the garden situation such as: field maple, whitebeam, crab apple (Malus sylvestris), common pear, Golden Rain Tree (Koelreuteria paniculata), Katsura (Cercidiphyllum japonicum), goat willow, hazel, hawthorn, Cornus mas, Amelanchier, Persian ironwood (Parrotia persica), Turkish hazel, Persian silk tree (Albizzia julibrissin), Elder, Medlar, Mulberry, quince (Cydonia oblonga), Judas Tree (Cercis siliquastrum), Bee-bee Tree (Gymnocladus dioica), for amenity, wildlife and shade to reduce increasingly high summer temperatures due to climate change.
