Application to reduce the crown of a Horse Chestnut tree by approximately 25% and perform selective thinning to manage its size, ensuring it remains suitable for its residential location.
Proposal as recorded
The tree remains active and is classified as a Horse Chestnut.Over the past nine years, the tree has grown significantly, as demonstrated in the attached photographs taken in April 2015 and April 2024. While we greatly value the presence of the tree, it has now become disproportionately large for the setting and visually dominates the surrounding gardens. We therefore seek permission to carry out a crown reduction of approximately 25%, along with selective thinning, to manage the trees size appropriately. This will help retain its health and form, while ensuring it remains suitable for its residential location. The owners of 1 Cliffmere Avenue, on whose land the tree stands, are fully supportive of this application and the proposed works.
