Proposal to cut down a willow tree in the garden of 2 Copperfield Road due to safety concerns and potential damage to properties at 2 and 2A Copperfield Road. The tree has overgrown and limbs have broken off, posing a risk.

Proposal as recorded

Willow Tree (Located in garden of 2 Copperfield Road): It is hanging over the development site which is 2A Copperfield Road. It has recently had the top cut off in the last two years by the owner but has since overgrown even more above the site. When visiting the site last weekend, there are three instances where limbs have broken off. One in the garden of 2 Copperfield, narrowly missing their conservatory. One in the adjacent garden which backs on to Grove Lane. One large limb has fallen into the development site, which would have damaged the roof if the dwelling was built. Due to health and safety reasons and the potential damage to 2 and 2A Copperfield, we propose to cut the tree down, leaving a stump in the garden of 2 Copperfield. We have liaised with the owner (Urrffa Rafiq) who is in agreement and would like the tree to be cut down on her behalf. TPO 16W.
