Plan to cut down a cedar tree near the road boundary due to safety concerns, as advised by arborists. The tree has caused damage during storms and poses a risk near a school bus stop. A replacement tree will be planted.
Proposal as recorded
Cedar, approx. 1m east of the south-western corner , 2m from the road boundary. Advised by an Arborist to fell to ground level/grinding of stump. Will plant replacement tree. During storms, several branches have fallen onto the highway and power lines. 24/01/2024 a large bough fell into garden, across adjoining fence and onto neighbours vehicle causing substantial damage. The tree also hit our roof, damaging tiles, 2 vehicles on the highway and bus stop just outside property. 2 Arborists advised that tree is dangerous and could cause further damage to property and is a risk to life as by school bus stop and route to local junior school. Large void in trunk susceptible to rot/decay. TPO 223E.
